Book II

from Lent 2010 by Once in a Moon

/

about

Book two of the Aeneid tells the whole Trojan Horse story in flashback.

The music is from Movement 38 of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (Dido's Lament or When I am Laid) and is taken from a recording of a performance at Bury Court, Bentley. You can hear a little of Dido's voice in the edit.

lyrics

With fear, and hate, and fire, they steal through my Troy
Awoken by ghosts, with father and son I flee
My sweet wife's pale face urging me safe out to sea
